June Butt

June is a self-taught artist who loves attention to detail. She has an inherent love of learning and pursues this with all mediums, and techniques

Since moving to Barrie in 1998, June has enjoyed exploring new mediums and techniques such as graphite, watercolour and oil. Acrylic had been her main medium. Photography is also a new medium for her .

Paintings have been shown at various venues, such as the MacLaren Art Center. As a member of the Barrie Art Club she has also shown her paintings in the member’s Gallery and at the Barrie Library.

Joan started painting in the mid '80s while stationed in New Brunswick with her military husband. Her paintings hang in 6 provinces and Germany as a result.

While in New Brunswick, she studied with Ellen Gosse and Joyce Johnson both students of prominent Atlantic artist Bill Alexander.

Her motto is "kwwp on paingint and learning as long as it's fun!'
